Life is busy. Everyone has somewhere to be. But a meal together is still one of the best things a family can do.
It is the one time we slow down
No rushing out the door. No screens if you can help it. Just food, faces, and conversation.
Kids and parents actually talk
People open up over a plate of food. You hear about the good part of the day and the hard part too.
It does not have to be fancy
Tacos count. Pizza on the floor counts. What matters is that you sit down together.
Try this
- Pick two nights a week to start.
- Put the phones in a basket.
- Ask one question, like “What was the best part of your day?”
- Let everyone help with something, even if it is just setting the table.
Start small. Keep it simple. The memories will last much longer than the dishes.
