I have never felt like the smartest person in the room. Most days I still do not. For a long time I thought that meant I could not win.
I was wrong. The people who get where they want to go are rarely the smartest. They are the ones who keep learning, keep asking, and keep going when it gets uncomfortable.
Three things that matter more than being brilliant
First, consistency. A little each day beats a big burst once a month. Second, humility. When you are willing to say I do not know, you can learn from everyone. Third, character. People trust people who are honest and kind, and trust opens doors that talent alone cannot.
Stop comparing
Someone will always be quicker, richer, or further along. That is fine. Your job is to be better than you were yesterday. That is a race you can actually win.
If you have never won in a big way, this could be the season where it starts. Not by becoming someone else, but by doing the next good thing, again and again, with a good heart.
You can do this. Let us go.
Phil
