Most mornings start with a rush. Alarm, phone, news, noise. Before your feet touch the floor your mind is already behind.
Here is a small thing that helps. Before you look at anything, name three things you are thankful for. Not big ones. The bed you slept in. The coffee that is about to happen. The person who texted you last night. Say them out loud or in your head. That is the whole habit.
Why two minutes is enough
A habit that takes ten minutes gets skipped on a hard day. A habit that takes two minutes survives. You do not need a journal or a candle or a perfect setting. You need a few quiet seconds and a willingness to notice what is already good.
When we practice noticing, we get better at it. It is like a muscle. After a couple of weeks you start catching good things during the day without trying. A kind word from a stranger. Sunlight on a wall. A song that came on at the right time.
How to start tomorrow
Put a note on your phone or your bathroom mirror that says, Three good things. When you see it, stop and name them. Try to pick different ones each day, because that forces you to look a little closer.
On the days that are heavy, make the list smaller and more honest. I am thankful I got up. I am thankful for water. I am thankful this day will end. That still counts, and it still shifts something.
You are not pretending everything is fine. You are choosing where to point your attention first. That choice, repeated, is how a life slowly gets lighter.
Try it tomorrow and see how the day feels. I think you will be surprised. We are building this together.
