You look at where you want to be and where you are, and the gap feels huge. That feeling of being behind can freeze you. Here is a way to move anyway.
Write the goal in one line
Make it clear and specific. “Run a 5K,” not “get fit.” A clear target is easier to aim at.
Find the next ten minutes
Ask, what can I do in ten minutes that moves me closer? Do that. Do not plan the whole mountain.
Track the streak, not the gap
Mark each day you take a step. After two weeks you will see a trail behind you, and that trail beats worrying about the distance ahead.
You are not late. You are starting, and starting is the hardest part.
Feeling behind is common
Many people look at a big goal and feel like they started too late or have too far to go. That feeling stops more dreams than any real obstacle.
Shrink the first step
Break the goal down until the first step takes ten minutes or less. Do that step today. Then do it again tomorrow. Progress comes from showing up, not from a perfect plan. Once you have momentum, the big goal stops looking so big.
Make someone's day
Pass this on. One kind message can change a whole day. Then play a game that does some good.
