The first few minutes of the day set the mood for everything after. Here is a simple way to start well.
Minute one: breathe
Before you reach for your phone, take a few slow breaths. In through the nose. Out through the mouth. Let your body wake up.
Minute two: say thanks
Think of three things you are grateful for. Say them out loud or write them down. They can be small. Coffee, a warm bed, a text from a friend.
Minute three: pick one thing
Ask yourself, what is the one good thing I can do today? Keep it small and clear. That is your win.
Make it stick
Do it at the same time each day. Keep a notebook and a pen near your bed. If you miss a day, start again the next morning.
If prayer is part of your life, this is a great time for it too. Say thanks, ask for help, and head into the day with a clear heart.
