Most morning routines fail because they are too long. An hour of stretching, journaling and cold showers sounds great until the alarm goes off. Here is a version you can finish in ten minutes.
Minutes one to three: water and light
Drink a full glass of water and open a window or step outside. Light and fresh air tell your body the day has started. That is all this part needs to do.
Minutes four to seven: move a little
Stretch your back, roll your shoulders, do ten slow squats. You are not training. You are waking up your body so it stops feeling stiff.
Minutes eight to ten: pick one thing
Write down the one thing that would make today a good day. Just one. When you finish it, the day is already a win, and everything else is extra.
Do this for a week before you change anything. A routine you keep beats a perfect one you quit.
Keep it realistic
A morning routine only works if you will actually do it. Ten minutes is short enough to keep on a busy day.
Build your ten
Drink water, stretch for a couple of minutes, write down your top task, and take a few quiet breaths. Do the same steps in the same order. Within a week it will feel natural, and your mornings will feel less rushed.
Make someone's day
Pass this on. One kind message can change a whole day. Then play a game that does some good.
