Scrolling can make everyone look like they are winning. Bigger house, better job, perfect family. But you are seeing their highlight reel, not their whole story.
Remember what you cannot see
Behind every nice photo is a long road. Late nights, mistakes, doubts. You are comparing your messy middle to someone’s polished result.
Compare to yesterday
The only fair comparison is you today versus you last month. Have you grown? Learned something? Helped someone? That counts.
Be glad for others
When someone wins, let it encourage you. Their success shows it is possible. There is room for everyone.
Run your own race. Your pace is fine.
You only see the highlight reel
When you compare yourself to someone else, you are looking at their finished chapters and your own messy draft. You do not see their late nights, their doubts, or the years it took to get where they are.
Everyone starts at chapter one. Some people simply started earlier, or had help you cannot see.
Use a fairer comparison
Ask a better question: am I further along than I was a year ago? That is the only comparison that is fair. When envy shows up, treat it as information. It may be pointing at something you want, so take one small step toward it today. Cheer for other people’s wins and keep writing your own story one page at a time.
Make someone's day
Pass this on. One kind message can change a whole day. Then play a game that does some good.
