There are days when I sit down to pray and nothing comes out. No polished sentences. Just a tired heart and a quiet room. I have learned that God does not need a speech from me. He hears the sigh too.
Scripture says the Spirit helps us with groanings too deep for words. That is a comfort. You are not failing at prayer when you run out of words.
Try a simple prayer
Say three things: “Thank you for one good thing. Help me with one hard thing. Be with the people I love.” That is a complete prayer.
Pray with your breath
Breathe in slowly and say “Lord, be near.” Breathe out and say “I trust you.” Repeat a few times. The words can be short and the prayer still reaches far.
Let someone else pray for you
When you have no words, ask a friend or your pastor to pray for you. Let their words carry you for a while.
Send a wish
You can also pray by reaching out. Send a short wish to someone who is hurting with the Wish Chain. Sometimes love is the prayer we can still say.
God meets you right where you are, even in the quiet. You do not need the right words to be heard.
