It’s with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Todd Cochrane, the visionary founder and CEO of Blubrry, who died unexpectedly on September 8, 2025, at the age of 61.
This is personal.
Todd didn’t just create a platform — he helped create a movement. One that gave people like me a voice, a purpose, and a path. Without Todd’s innovation and leadership in podcasting, I honestly don’t know where I’d be today.
When I launched the Positive Phil Podcast, I had no idea where it would go. I just knew I wanted to share stories of hope, inspiration, and success — and I needed a way to do it right. That’s when I discovered Blubrry.
From day one, I felt something different. Blubrry wasn’t just podcast hosting. It was a community — built for creators, by creators. Todd believed deeply in independent voices, and he backed that belief with real, creator-first tools: PowerPress, transparent analytics, and hands-on support that made me feel like I wasn’t doing this alone.
Todd once said:
“Podcasting is one of the most honest, raw forms of media we have today. It gives everyone a chance to speak — and more importantly, a chance to be heard.”
— Todd Cochrane
That quote has stuck with me for years. It reminds me why I started this journey in the first place — and why Todd’s legacy matters so much.
Over the years, Blubrry became more than just a service. It became the backbone of Positive Phil — and the springboard for thousands of other shows around the world. That’s the kind of reach Todd had. Quietly powerful. Deeply impactful.
His passing is a massive loss for the podcasting world, but his spirit lives on in every episode, every download, and every new podcaster who dares to share their voice.
